A day-long farmer training workshop has been held in Nilphamari to improve the skills of farmers. The training was held at the Farmer Training Center of the Sadar Upazila Agriculture Office on Thursday (February 13). Training was provided on various topics including agricultural modernization, advanced agricultural technology, seed production and conservation.
In this, speeches were delivered under the chairmanship of Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Atiq Ahmed, Additional Deputy Director (Horticulture) of the District Agricultural Extension Department Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Nikchan Chandra Pal, Sadar Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Humaira Binte Ali and others.
60 farmers of the upazila participated in the training. In the day-long training, farmers were given ideas about agricultural technology and pesticide management. Emphasis was placed on modernization of agriculture, awareness of pesticide use and organic farming. This day-long training was organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension of Sadar Upazila under the Agriculture and Rural Development Project of Rangpur Division.
