BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas told the government, "It's okay that you are conducting a devil hunt operation, but instead of looking for devils in the forests, find the devils lurking in government offices. Awami League ghosts are still sitting in all government institutions. They are the ones trying to lead the government in the wrong direction."
Mirza Abbas made these remarks at a seminar organized near Bir Shrestha Shaheed Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur, Dhaka, on Tuesday.
The BNP of Mugda Thana in Dhaka Metropolitan South organized a seminar titled 'Tarique Rahman's 31 Points and Public Involvement in State Reforms'.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Mirza Abbas said about his party's demand for elections, "BNP has been agitating for the people's right to vote for a decade and a half, its workers have given their lives and blood. This is not a new demand. We have been agitating for parliamentary elections."
"And some are demanding local elections. They don't know that the Awami fascists who are now hiding in the hole will poke their heads out through the loopholes of the local elections. This is an evil plot."
