BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has commented that BNP has received hypocrisy as a gift for showing generosity towards Jamaat-e-Islami.
At a memorial meeting organized by Taherpur Municipality BNP at a local school ground, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, "BNP has always shown generosity towards Jamaat. Jamaat is doing politics by taking advantage of this generosity. BNP supported them even though the Awami League announced a ban on them after independence. After showing this generosity, BNP received hypocrisy as a gift."
He made the remarks at a memorial meeting organized to mark the 23rd death anniversary of Upazila BNP founding president Abdul Wahed Mandal in Taherpur, Bagmara Upazila, Rajshahi, on Wednesday evening.
Rizvi Ahmed said, "We did not support Jamaat. They got the first opportunity to do politics in Bangladesh due to the generosity of BNP; but this party has always been hypocritical. They have done nothing but hypocrisy. The people of the country should be careful about them. They talk good words with their mouths but are busy with bad thoughts inside."
He said, "The autocratic Awami League, which opened fire on students and the public, killed them indiscriminately, Jamaat said - they will forgive the Awami League. How can they forgive the blood of martyr Abu Sayeed and Mughtar?" Ruhul Kabir Rizvi asked.
Addressing Jamaat, he further said, Sheikh Hasina is sitting in India without a passport visa and is speaking against the country and spreading provocations. How did that India become dear to you? This is very sad. India has never wanted the well-being of Bangladesh. It will not want it in the future either - the people of the country must remember this.
Bagmara Taherpur Municipal BNP President Abu Nayem Md. Shamsur Rahman Mintu presided over the memorial meeting, which was attended by special guests - BNP National Executive Committee Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam, BNP Rajshahi Division Organizing Secretary Syed Shahin Shawkat, District BNP Convener Abu Sayeed Chand, Member Secretary Bishwanath Sarkar, Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP Convener Ershad Ali Isha, Member Secretary Mamunur Rashid, among others.
