On the occasion of the 89th birth anniversary of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, the founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), through the distribution of winter clothes, blankets and winter clothes were distributed among the underprivileged people of the union, several orphanages and patients at the Chatkhil Upazila Health Complex at the initiative of Mohin Uddin Sumon, leader of the Jubo Dal and joint convener of the Zia Oikya Forum in Dhaka.
Over the past two weeks, in the presence of leaders and activists from each ward of the union in Noakhola Union of Chatkhil Upazila of Noakhali district, more than 1,000 winter clothes and blankets have been distributed among cold-stricken people and orphanages.
Present at the event were Upazila BNP member secretary Shahajahan Rana, joint convener Anis Ahmed Hanif, Krishak Dal vice-president Rezanur Patwary Liton, Jubo Dal joint convener Saiful Azam Jaglu, Jubo Dal Dhaka Zia Unity Forum joint convener Mohin Uddin Sumon, former student leader Dildar Hossain Didar, joint convener Delwar Hossain, former UP members Kabir Hossain, Nasir Uddin, Peyar Hossain, Mintu, Jamal Hossain, Sumon Rubel Hossain, Md. Tipu Abdul Hai and Sumon Hadi.
Jubo Dal leader Mohin Uddin Sumon said in his speech, "For the past 16 years, I have been distributing blankets and winter clothes to BNP leaders and activists, underprivileged people of the area and madrasa students in orphanages. For the past 16 years, I could not do it publicly due to the fear of Awami League misrule. Now is the time to stand by your side. I seek your blessings. May I continue to work as a servant by the side of the people in the future. I seek your cooperation."
