SM Abu Nahian Mia was elected president of the committee formed on February 10th, and Aritri Barua was appointed general secretary.
Other important positions held by the newly elected committee are: Sabiha Chowdhury as vice-president, and Hossain Mohammad Ismail as treasurer. Sanjim Sajid Jim as Deputy General Secretary, Md. Ashek Elahi as Assistant Treasurer, Md. Ishtiaq Hossain Emon as Organizing Secretary, Ashiq Billah Saad as Content and Media Management Editor and Acting Editor for Research and Publication, Tasnima Islam as Content and Media Management Associate Editor, Fabia Kabir Toha as Admin and Human Resources Editor and Acting Editor for Sponsorship Management, Mitba Fairuz Manzoor as Sponsorship Management Associate Editor, Sumaiya Mahjabeen as Admin and Human Resources Associate Editor, Al Muminul Mia as Event Management and Photography Editor, Rakibul Huda, Md. Touhidur Rahman, Yamin Alam, Mashia Kader Shifa and Adila Khanam as Event Management and Photography Associate Editors, Tasnim Hossain Tajin, Zeba Mirza, Washik Ibn Hayat Ananya and Md. Abdullah Sowad Sikder have been elected.
Thirteen executive members have been elected to the newly formed committee. The following have been appointed as executives: Aminul Islam Sejan, Farhana Akhter, Khalid Hasan, Labib Ahmed, Md. Fatin Tajwar, Md. Afif Abrar Tasin, Md. Maruf Mallick, Md. Mushfiq Zaman Shuvo, Nazia Islam Nadi, Noor Fatima Haque Nishat, Nusrat Jahan, Sadia Khanam and Shakil Rana.
Congratulating everyone, the newly elected committee president SM Nahian said, "Maritime University Quizzing and Current Affairs Club is an organization that is always engaged in the pursuit of contemplation, knowledge, research and fulfilling intellectual needs. This organization believes that not only rote learning, but also regular knowledge practice and application of analytical skills can fulfill the real intellectual needs of an individual. I am optimistic about this executive committee in fulfilling this goal."
Also, the club's general secretary, Aritri Barua, said, "I have been with the Quizzing and Current Affairs Club from the very beginning. The responsibility is huge. I don't know how much work I will be able to do. But I will try to go beyond the traditional lines and take the club forward. If we get sufficient funding, every student of Maritime has the caliber to win national and international awards. I hope the authorities will look kindly on the club."
