Faridpur District Representative-
The roads of Charbhadrasan Upazila of Faridpur are now a terrible death trap for motorcycle accidents. Numerous teenagers, young people and young men are dying in road accidents every day. Nowadays, motorcycles of various brands are quite attractive to teenagers and young men. Teenagers and young men of young age are dying in motorcycle accidents more often. These teenagers and young men are roaming around in different places on bikes. The speed of their motorcycles is at the highest. Pedestrians are getting scared seeing the speed.
Despite knowing the consequences of accidents, many conscious parents are buying motorcycles for their 14-15 year old teenage children. Teenagers studying in secondary and higher secondary are riding bikes at top speed with 3/4 friends. They are joining teams and participating in bike competitions. Riding bikes for teenagers has become a norm. Their motorcycles are running at speeds of 100 kmph or more.
And the reason for the increase in motorcycle accidents is that bikes are being handed over to teenagers. 3/4 riders, abnormal speed, not overtaking carefully, listening to music while driving with headphones, talking on a mobile phone with your ear on your shoulder, not obeying traffic laws, lack of training, being distracted, not seeing bystanders, not slowing down in markets, not wearing helmets are notable.
Due to these reasons, teenage bikers are losing their lives prematurely. Many are paralyzed for life. The recent increase in the rate of motorcycle accidents in Charbhadrasan has raised concerns among the conscious community. Kamrul Hasan Firoz, president of the Krishak Dal of Charbhadrasan Upazila, said that parents buy motorcycles to compete with neighbors or to satisfy the needs of their children.
Many people don't tell their children to drive slowly. Young people take the opportunity to race motorcycles. As a result, they lose control and die prematurely in accidents.
Half of the drivers and passengers killed in motorcycle accidents (51.42%) were between the ages of 14 and 20.
Charbhadrasan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Rajiullah Khan said that teenagers are riding motorcycles at reckless speeds. First, guardians should be careful.
Parents have a great role in educating them in moral education. It is better not to buy a motorcycle if they are not adults. Studies by various organizations working on road safety have shown that most drivers do not follow the rules when riding motorcycles on highways, regional roads and rural roads. The rule of not more than two people riding on one motorcycle is also not followed. Unregistered motorcycles are also frequently used at the upazila level. Many do not have any training in riding motorcycles.
