On the third day of Operation Devil Hunt in Hatiya, Dwip Upazila of Noakhali, joint forces arrested two people with firearms. During this time, one American-made pistol, one domestically made one-shooter gun, 12 bomb-like cocktails, 9 bullets, 2 dragers, and 2 kiritches were recovered.

Noakhali Superintendent of Police (SP) Abdullah Al Faruk confirmed the matter on Tuesday (February 11) afternoon. Earlier, they were arrested from Kausar Mia Brick Field area, opposite Haji Abul Bashar Market, College Road, Ward No. 2 of Charking Union of the upazila, at around 2:30 am on Monday.
The arrested are Md. Nabir Uddin (50), son of the late Nurul Haque, and Md. Imam Hossain (50), son of Haji Abdul Matin, of the same union.
Police said that as part of Operation Devil Hunt, Hatia Police Station and Bangladesh Navy conducted a joint operation at around 2:30 am on Monday in the Brick Field area of Kausar Mia, opposite Haji Abul Bashar Market on College Road in Charking Union of the upazila. At that time, when law enforcement members reached the spot, unknown terrorists hurled cocktails at the joint force's vehicle from the Brick Field area. In self-defense, the joint force opened fire. Then, when the terrorists recklessly advanced towards the joint force, the joint force opened fire, and the terrorists tried to run away, and two were arrested from the spot.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Abdullah Al Farooq also said that two cases have been registered under the Arms and Explosives Act in this incident. The accused in those cases will be produced before the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court after being arrested.
