Following an application filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Ghalib has directed Interpol to issue a red alert to arrest former Inspector General of Police (IG) Benazir Ahmed. The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Galib issued this order on Monday (February 10).
Earlier, on January 13, the court ordered the seizure of income tax documents of Benazir and her eldest daughter Farheen Rishta bint Benazir. On January 8, the court ordered the seizure of income tax documents of Benazir's wife Zeeshan Mirza and younger daughter Tahsin Raisa bint Benazir.
On December 15, the ACC filed four cases against Benazir and her wife and children. The case alleges that Benazir acquired undeclared assets worth Tk 94.4 million and concealed assets worth Tk 26.2 million.
His wife, Zeeshan Mirza, has acquired known undeclared assets worth Tk 31.69 crore and concealed information worth Tk 16.1 crore.
Their eldest daughter Farheen Rishta binte Benazir has acquired illegal assets worth Tk 87.5 crore and their second daughter Tahsin Raisa binte Benazir has acquired illegal assets worth Tk 55.9 crore.
