Students protested by blocking roads demanding the full opening of Kushtia Medical College and Hospital. At 11:30 am on Monday, students blocked the Kushtia-Rajbari regional highway in front of the main gate of the college and protested. The blockade, which lasted for one and a half hours, created long traffic jams on both sides of the road. Commuters suffered greatly due to this. Army personnel reached the spot to control the situation and tried to normalize the situation. Later, at 1 pm, the program was lifted with the assurance of the hospital director Dr. Anwarul Kabir.
The aggrieved students said that even after almost 14 years, Kushtia Medical College and Hospital have not been fully equipped. Equipment worth crores of taka is lying in a state of neglect, and they questioned why it is not being put into operation even though everything is in order.
