An unidentified man (55) has died after being run over by a train in Gobindaganj Upazila of Gaibandha.
Police recovered the body from the Dewan Tala Railway Bridge area of Mahimaganj Union of the upazila on Monday (February 10).
Locals said that the dismembered body of an unidentified person was found lying next to the Dewan Tala Railway Bridge (50A) on the Saidpur-Dhaka railway line on Monday morning.
Seeing this, people informed the railway police.
Khairul Islam Talukder, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bonarpara Railway Police Station in Gaibandha, said that the body was recovered from the scene after receiving information. It is believed that the person died after falling from the Dhaka-bound Burimari Express train or being crushed under the train while crossing the railway line around 1 am on Sunday. Efforts are underway to identify him.
