Pirojpur Correspondent:
The DB police have arrested Laikuzzaman Mintu Talukder, the organizing secretary of Pirojpur's Kaukhali Upazila Awami League and UP chairman of Chirapara Parsaturia Union Parishad.
It is learned that last Sunday night, DB police arrested Laikuzzaman Mintu from a motorcycle garage in front of Allama Sayedee Foundation in Pirojpur and handed him over to Kaukhali Police Station that night. It is worth mentioning that Laikuzzaman Mintu is the nephew of Awami League leader Ishaq Ali Khan Panna, former general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League, who was killed at the border while fleeing to India a few days ago.
According to Kaukhali Police Station sources, while Laikuzzaman Mintu was putting up a poster of a BNP program in the Notun Bazar area of Brekutia Bridge in Chirapara, Sialkathi, Kaukhali Upazila on November 6, 2024, some Awami League people tore down the poster and prevented him from putting it up.
At that time, they attacked BNP workers who were putting up posters. When a case was filed in this incident, the police arrested the chairman of the union parishad, Laikuzzaman Mintu, and sent him to Pirojpur Kot.
Kaukhali Police Station OC Solaiman Hossain said that Operation Devil Hunt is currently underway across Bangladesh, so those against whom charges have been filed are being arrested. And the operation is continuing to maintain the law and order situation.
