Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has finalized its candidates for 16 constituencies in Chittagong district for the upcoming national parliamentary elections. The organization's leaders and activists are preparing to enter the field with full force to win at least 10 of these seats.
Several sources from the central and Chittagong Jamaat confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday morning. However, they did not agree to reveal their names in this regard.
It is learned that the final candidates nominated for the upcoming national elections are - Advocate Saifur Rahman for Chittagong-1 (Mirsarai) constituency, Chittagong-2 (Fatikchhari) Principal Muhammad Nurul Amin, Chittagong-3 (Sandwip) Alauddin Sikder, Chittagong-4 (Sitakunda) Anwarul Siddiqui, Chittagong-5 (Hathazari) Engineer Sirajul Islam, Chittagong-6 (Raujan) Shahjahan Manjur, Chittagong-7 (Rangunia) Principal Amiruzzaman, Chittagong-8 (Chandgaon-Boalkhali) Dr. Abu Naser, Chittagong-9 (Kotwali-Bakaliya) Dr. Fazlul Haque, Chittagong-10 (Khulshi-Pahartoli-Halishahar) Principal Shamsuzzaman Helali, Chittagong-11 (Bandar-Patenga) Shafiul Alam, Chittagong-12 (Patia) Engineer Lokman, Chittagong-13 (Anowara-Karnaphuli) Professor Mahmudul Hasan, Chittagong-14 (Chandanaish) Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Chittagong-15 (Satkania-Lohagara) Shahjahan Chowdhury and Chittagong-16 (Baanshkhali) Maulana Zahirul Islam.
Meanwhile, Chittagong Metropolitan Jamaat Secretary Principal Muhammad Nurul Amin expressed his inability to talk about the finalization of candidates for all 16 seats. He said, all the candidates are almost final. However, there is no opportunity to reveal the names at this time. Our Secretary General will come to Chittagong in a few days. Then you will be officially informed.
South District Ameer Anwarul Alam Chowdhury also said the same thing. He said, the candidates have been finalized. However, I cannot reveal the names at this time before the central announcement. Although we have already entered the voting field. InshaAllah, this time the people will give their verdict to establish a just society.
Alauddin Sikder, the Ameer of Jamaat in Chittagong North District and candidate for Sandwip constituency, said, "Our candidates have been finalized. Among them, the names of the candidates for the North District were announced in an internal meeting on Saturday."
