A long march and social gathering are being held to pray for the forgiveness of the souls of all the martyrs killed in firing by Indian forces on the border, including Felani, and to demand a fair share of water in Farakka.
Tarique Rahman, who introduced himself as the member secretary of the Aam Janata Party, said, "Cows were slaughtered in Bogra to protest the oppression of the Hindu king. And this sacrifice was common since long ago. India oppresses Bangladesh and Muslims through its cow politics. Our sacrifice activity is in protest against that.
A cow was slaughtered and a feast was organized at the Government Model High School in the upazila on Sunday morning. Various events were held there throughout the day under the banner of "People of Bangladesh".
Earlier on Saturday night, about 500 members marched from the central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka under the banner of "People of Bangladesh" and reached Shibganj Model Government High School in Chapainawabganj at around 11:30 am. An organization called "People of Bangladesh" organized this long march and social reception.

During this time, participants in the long march and social gatherings chanted various slogans, including "We have not forgotten you," "People, stop Indian aggression," "We must stop killing on the border," "Eat more cows, stop aggression," "Delhi, not Dhaka, Dhaka, Dhaka," and "Indian brokers, beware."
Abdul Majid, a resident of Kaliganj border in Binodpur union, who came to participate in the banquet, said, "On January 5, 6 and 18, the Indians carried out aggression in the Kaliganj border area. This anti-aggression activity was resisted by the locals. And a program has been organized here for those who participated in this anti-Indian aggression activity. That is why we have come here and we feel good about coming to this program because this program is organized to encourage and motivate us."
