A cycling competition was held in Satkhira on the occasion of the Youth Festival-2025. Organized by the district administration and district sports office and funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the competition was inaugurated by Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mostaq Ahmed on Sunday (February 9) morning.
In this 12-kilometer long race, cyclists of various professions started from Satkhira Stadium, circled the city's bypass road and Satkhira Medical College, and finished at the designated destination at Khulna Road intersection.
At the end of the competition, the chief guest Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mostaq Ahmed handed over the prizes and certificates to the winners at the Satkhira Stadium.
Satkhira Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bishnupada Pal presided over the program, and District Sports Officer Md. Mahbubur Rahman delivered the welcome speech.
Also present at the event were Mohini Tabassum, spokesperson of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Tayeb Hasan Shamsuzzaman Babu, ad hoc committee member of the District Sports Association, Mofassinul Islam Topu, journalist Zillur Rahman, and Jayanta Sarkar, medical officer of the Satkhira Civil Surgeon's Office. The entire event was hosted by commentator Oliul Islam.
Chief guest Deputy Commissioner Mostaq Ahmed said in his speech that morality is essential for success. There is no alternative to sports in building a healthy and strong life. The role of youth in building the country is undeniable.
