Students in Sirajganj, the gateway to North Bengal, have staged a blockade program in Sirajganj, alleging that most of the students who participated in the anti-discrimination student movement in Sirajganj were not given a place in the committee.
They blocked the Jamuna Bridge West Roundabout Highway for an hour from 5:30 pm on Sunday (February 9). During this time, traffic was stopped on both sides of the highway.
Earlier, at a press conference organized at a building on SS Road in Sirajganj Municipality around 12 noon, they demanded the cancellation of the committee within 6 hours.
This program was provided.
It is worth mentioning that on Saturday (February 8), around 10 pm, a letter signed by the convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Hasnat Abdullah, and member secretary Arif Sohel, on the verified Facebook page of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, approved the formation of a 284-member Sirajganj District Committee. In it, Sajeeb Sarkar was appointed as the convener, Mehedi Hasan as the member secretary, Iqbal Hossain Ripon as the chief organizer, and TM Mushfiq Saad as the spokesperson. Since then, various discussions and criticisms have started about this committee.
