Under the food-friendly program, the sale of OMS rice at 30 taka per kg has started in the open market under the implementation of the Food Department. The sales activities will continue at Tabak Patti and Suti Kalibari in Gopalpur Municipality of Tangail. Each person will be able to buy 5 kg of rice.
On Sunday (February 9) morning, Upazila Executive Officer Tuhin Hossain inaugurated the sale of rice at the OMS dealer point in the Tamak Patti Mohalla of Konabari Bazar.
Present at the event were Upazila Food Controller Officer Abul Kalam Azad, Acting Food Controller Ibrahim Khan, Upazila Food Inspector Abdul Halim, Upazila Jubo Dal Convener Saiful Islam Talukder Lelin, Dealer Plabon Chandra Chanda, local dignitaries and beneficiaries.
