Chairman of Barakah Foundation and former Chief Election Commissioner Justice Mohammad Abdur Rouf passed away on Sunday, February 9 at 10 am while undergoing treatment at Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital in Moghbazar, Dhaka. (Inna-Lillah wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun)
He had been suffering from heart, lung, kidney and old age-related diseases for a long time. He was 92 years old at the time of his death. The first funeral (February 9) will be held at the Mohakhali Ghausul Azam Mosque after Asr. The second funeral will be held tomorrow, Monday, February 10, after Zuhr at the National Eidgah grounds in the Supreme Court premises. The third funeral prayer of the deceased will be held at Maghrib (Monday, February 10) at the traditional Dapunia High School grounds of Sadar Police Station, Mymensingh. After the funeral prayer, he will be buried next to his mother in the family graveyard, it has been informed by the family. It is worth noting that he is survived by two sons, a daughter, grandchildren and numerous esteemed relatives at the time of his death. The family prays for the forgiveness of the deceased's soul.
