Former MP Muktir's house and A.L. office vandalized and set on fire in Narail. Former MP (MP) Kabirul Haque Muktir's house and the Upazila Awami League office of Narail 1 constituency were vandalized and set on fire by angry mobs. Ujjwal Roy, district representative from Narail, said that the vandalism and arson occurred in Kalia upazila on Friday (February 7) afternoon at the A.L. office and Muktir's house in the evening.
According to local sources, on Friday around 4 pm, leaders and activists of the Upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations held a protest and demonstration procession in Kalia Bazar. Later in the evening, the angry crowd suddenly vandalized the Upazila Awami League office. Later, it was set on fire. Shortly after this incident, the angry crowd attacked and vandalized the house of former MP Kabirul Haque Mukti next to the Kalia Dak Bungalow and set it on fire.
Kalia Upazila BNP General Secretary S.M. Wahiduzzaman Milu said, when the Awami League office was vandalized and the fire broke out at Mukti Bari, our meeting was in its final stages. We do not know who did this. BNP has no involvement in this. In this regard, Kalia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Rashidul Islam said, the fire service has brought the fire under control.
