Home Minister Amit Shah, a close aide to the Prime Minister, also posted on X, saying Modi is 'in the heart of Delhi' and voters have destroyed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's 'Shismahal' (the BJP's mocking name for his luxurious residence). Shah said, 'Delhi has taught a lesson to those who break promises... This will also be an example to those who make false promises.'

In comparison, AAP won 67 seats in the 2015 elections and 62 in 2020. On the other hand, BJP won only three seats in 2015 and eight in 2020. The vote gap between AAP and BJP in the 2020 elections was 15 percentage points. However, in this election, BJP has closed this gap by increasing tax exemptions for middle-class voters and providing direct cash assistance to women.
After the BJP's huge victory, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was defeated in his own seat.
