Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's nominees for the two parliamentary constituencies in Pirojpur are Masud Sayedee and Shamim Sayedee, the two sons of the party's former Nayeb-e-Amir and former member of parliament from Pirojpur-1 constituency Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee. Allama Sayedee's elder son Masud Sayedee, former chairman of Indurkani Upazila Parishad, is contesting from Pirojpur-1 constituency (Indurkani-Pirojpur Sadar-Nazirpur), and Allama Sayedee's elder son Shamim Sayedee is contesting from Pirojpur-2 constituency (Bhandaria-Kawkhali-Nesarabad).
Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Assistant Secretary General Advocate Moazzem Hossain Helal announced the names of candidates for three constituencies in Pirojpur district at a meeting held at the Bhandaria Islamic Foundation Auditorium on Thursday. As per the decision of the party's central committee, Shamim Sayedee, the elder son of Allama Sayedee, has been nominated from Pirojpur-2 constituency (Bhandaria-Kawkhali-Nesarabad). Earlier, Masud Sayedee was declared the candidate for Pirojpur-1 constituency (Indurkani-Pirojpur Sadar-Nazirpur). World-renowned mufassir Allama Sayedee was a popular figure in Pirojpur and the world. His family has immense popularity in Pirojpur. To capitalize on this popularity, the party has declared his two sons as candidates for two constituencies in Pirojpur.
Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi was elected MP from Pirojpur-1 constituency in 1996 and 2001 as a candidate of the previous four-party alliance. In 2001, due to the alliance being in power, he has earned a good reputation by doing many developmental works in Pirojpur. As an example of honesty, the common people have the trust and love of his family. His son Masud Sayeedi worked in harmony with everyone even when he was the chairman of Indurkani Upazila Parishad for five years. He too, like his father, has earned the trust and love of the common people as an honest and idealistic follower.
After the fall of the fascist Awami government, Masud Sayedee has visited different areas of Pirojpur-1 constituency several times. He is also running around in important government offices for the development of the area. Recently, Shamim Sayedee has also visited several unions.
When asked about this, Pirojpur District Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Principal Tafazzal Hossain Farid said, "As per the decision of the central committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Masud Sayedee has been declared a candidate in Pirojpur-1 constituency (Indurkani-Pirojpur Sadar-Nazirpur) and Shamim Sayedee has been declared a candidate in Pirojpur-2 constituency (Bhandaria-Kawkhali-Nesarabad)."
When asked about his candidacy, Masud Sayedee said, "Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has entrusted us with the great responsibility of nominating our two brothers as candidates for the two constituencies of Pirojpur, and we will try to fulfill it faithfully, Insha Allah. We will walk our path with the mercy of Allah and the love of the people. Just as our respected father Shaheed Allama Sayedee served all people regardless of religion or caste, we also want to serve the people like our father. We want to make Pirojpur a developed and livable city free from drugs, terrorism and corruption. We will work with the youth in the spirit of building a happy and prosperous state without discrimination in the spirit of the great Liberation War of 1971 and 24. Our goal will be to develop young leadership to build the golden Bengal of our dreams."
Masud Sayedee also said, 90 percent of the visible development activities including infrastructural development, roads, bridges, culverts and other developmental activities of Pirojpur were built by my father Shaheed Allama Sayedee. After him, many people were members of parliament in this constituency. But the people of this area are witnesses that they did not do anything for the development of this area. The biggest thing is that the common people could not reach them. We want to bring change in this place. If we are elected, we will be ready to listen to the people of all walks of life, we will always be by their side in happiness and sorrow. We will try our best for the overall development of the area, Insha Allah.
