Pavipravi Representative:
The Patuakhali University of Science and Technology Research Society is going to start its journey for the first time at Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (PUST).
Known as the ocean of knowledge in South Bengal, Pavipravi is a specialized university, where the research of teachers and students in agriculture, technology, law and land administration is renowned throughout the country. Although until now, research on various subjects was being conducted at the university on private initiatives or on the basis of specific faculties. Now, the Research Society is being formed with the aim of bringing that research under one umbrella.
The journey of this research society has started with the initiative of Md. Joy Bhangi, a student of the 21-22 session of the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Science of the university. First, he took the advice of the university's Student Affairs Advisor, Professor Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman, and took the initial steps to form the society with the verbal approval of the Director of the Research and Training Center, Professor Dr. Md. Mamun-ur-Rashid.
Later, a primary convening committee was formed with student representatives from various faculties of the university's Patuakhali and Barisal campuses. At the same time, when teachers involved in recent research were invited as advisors, they responded positively and expressed their interest in joining the Paviprabi Research Society as advisors.
In addition, the PBIPRA Research Society has become a member of the Bangladesh Research Society so that it can participate in research activities at the national level.
Currently, the constitution of the society has been finalized. In this regard, the entrepreneur of the Research Society, Md. Joy Bhangi, said, "Although the reputation of our university's research is beyond the country and in the international arena, many ordinary students did not get the opportunity to join research. And since research could not be brought under one umbrella, the scope of research was also limited. Hence this is my initiative. We have prepared the constitution of the Pavipravi Research Society in consultation with the Bangladesh Research Society, so that it can maintain national standards. We are going to start the activities in a very short time."
When asked if there were any obstacles in forming the research society, he said, "The university teachers have expressed interest in us and are providing maximum cooperation. Although some students are trying to channelize the matter into a different field, they have not got that opportunity due to the teachers being by their side."
The general students of the university have also welcomed this initiative. They have expressed hope that the Pavipravi Research Society will make the students research-oriented and take the university further in the field of research.
