Rehan Uddin also said that his community center was vandalized in a planned manner. Some people climbed over the wall at night and set the community center on fire. The night watchman of the market saw the fire and informed the manager by phone. The fire service then brought the fire under control. Several chairs, tables and the ceiling of the building were burnt in the fire. He claimed that about 1 million taka of damage was caused.
Sitakunda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mojibur Rahman said, "Upon receiving the information, the police informed the fire service. The fire was brought under control before we reached the spot."
