A protest rally was held in front of the Moulvibazar Press Club to protest the land fraud and fake inheritance certificate of the deceased Syed Madachchir Ahmed, a resident of Girja Para, by land grabber Sajjadur Rahman Jitu. In addition, the victim Syeda Akhtar Begum held a press conference demanding exemplary punishment and withdrawal of the false case.
At the press conference, the victim, Syeda Akhtar Begum, said, "I am an elderly woman and have been living in England for a long time. My husband, Syed Madachchir Ahmed, died in 1999 and after his death, his property was supposed to be divided between me, my two daughters and one son. However, after the death of my husband and son, my husband's brothers' sons tried to seize the land by creating fake inheritance certificates to embezzle their property."
He further said, "Sajjadur Rahman Jitu and his associates created fake inheritance certificates from Moulvibazar Municipality in 2018. However, their fake certificates were canceled by Moulvibazar Municipality authorities. Even after this, they continued to illegally occupy land."
The victim added, "They create fake documents for everything, which is enough evidence to take legal action against them. I want them to be given exemplary punishment for this fraud and forgery, so that no one dares to seize other people's property like this in the future."
A case has been filed at Moulvibazar Model Police Station in this regard, and protests against the incident are growing among locals.
Apart from Syeda Akhtar Begum, Riyad Ahmed Chowdhury and Shamsuddin Ahmed were present at the press conference.
