Police have arrested Khandaker Saifur Rahman Shaheen (52), chairman of Ballabhodi Union in Saltha Upazila of Faridpur.
He was arrested from his home in Ballabhdi village of Kazi at around 12 noon on Thursday (February 6).
He is the son of the late Khandaker Shamsur Rahman Ali Mia, the father of that village, and the president of the Upazila Sramik League.
According to police sources, there was an arrest warrant against Shaheen Chairman in the case of vandalizing the car of BNP Central Committee General Secretary Shama Obaid Islam Rinku. The case is registered at Saltha Police Station under case number 112/24.
Saltha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Ataur Rahman said, Shaheen Chairman was arrested from his house in Ballabhdi village on Thursday afternoon. There are two cases against him under the Speedy Trial Act. He was sent to Faridpur court around 1:30 pm. Bidhan Mandal
