The convening committee of the Government Titumir College Chhatra Dal located in the capital Mohakhali has been announced. Ataur Rahman Ata, a talented son of Sharsha Upazila, has been nominated as the joint convener in the committee.
This information was given in a press release signed by Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir on Monday. The press release has been issued appointing Imam Hossain as the convener and Selim Reza as the member secretary of the committee.
Ataur Rahman is a student of B.Sc. in the 2013/14 academic year and MSc. in the Department of Mathematics of Dhaka Titumir College in the 2017/18 academic year. Ataur is the son of Dr. Maqbul Hossain and Rokeya Begum of Harinapota village in Laxmanpur union of Sharsha upazila of Jessore district. Ataur Rahman is the youngest of 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
He was first elected as the Joint General Secretary of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Titumir College, Central Parliament in 2023. This time, on February 3, he was elected as the Joint Convener of the newly formed Convening Committee of this college.
He was imprisoned several times during the previous government's misrule. He was attacked several times while carrying out various programs to protect democracy. Ataur Rahman, a soldier of Zia who fought on the streets in the movement struggle, expressed gratitude to all the leaders and activists for being able to hold an important position in the Chhatra Dal.
After being elected as the joint convener of the Government Titumir College Chhatra Dal, Ataur Rahman Ata said, "Titumir College is the pulse of my life. I am happy and proud to have been appointed to the committee of Chhatra Dal. I will fulfill the responsibility entrusted to me by the party to the letter to bring back the mother of democracy, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, and the statesman of the future, Tarique Rahman, to Bangladesh and restore the right to vote for the people. In addition, I will play an active role in the movement struggle on the streets for the needs of the party and the nation, God willing."
