Faridpur District Representative-
A case has been filed against six people, including former MP Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury Nixon, former Upazila Chairman Kazi Shafiqur Rahman, and former Upazila Chairman Md. Shahidul Islam Babul, at Sadarpur Police Station in Faridpur, over the distribution of Awami League posters. In addition, 10/12 unidentified people have been named as accused in the same case. Last Monday, Sadarpur Police Station SI (Unarmed) Md. Mamunur Rashid filed the case as the plaintiff. The other names in the case are Prince Chowdhury's father, A. Razzak Chowdhury, Habi Bepari, and Lokman Sheikh.
SI (Unarmed) Md. Mamunur Rashid said that on the evening of February 2, while distributing Awami League posters under the slogan "Trust in Sheikh Hasina", a local mob beat up a person named Prince Chowdhury and handed him over to the police. The police operation is continuing to arrest other accused in this case.
According to local sources, the arrested Prince Chowdhury, a resident of Dakshin Char Bishnupur in the upazila, contested the national elections on January 7, 2024, under the Trinamool BNP nomination under the 'jute fiber' symbol. Now, questions have arisen in the public mind about how the same person is distributing Awami League posters.
In this regard, Sadarpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Motaleb Hossain (Khokon) said, Sheikh Hasina left the country after the fall of the government on August 5. Since then, the accused have been committing treason in various ways. We have arrested the accused Prince Chowdhury and sent him to jail. The operation to arrest the remaining accused is ongoing.
