Faridpur District Representative-
Three fishermen have been fined for selling jatka in Charbhadrasan upazila of Faridpur. On Wednesday (February 5) morning, Upazila Assistant Commissioner Land Mr. Nishat Farabi and Fisheries Officer Naeem Hossain Biplob conducted a drive at Charbhadrasan Sadar Bazar and Amirer Bridge Bazar.
Rafiqul Islam, Billal, and Kabir Bacha of Sadar Union of the upazila were fined for selling jatka.
In a joint operation conducted by the Upazila Administration and the Fisheries Department, three fish sellers were fined Tk 5,000 each, for a total of Tk 13,000, under the Fisheries Protection and Conservation Act-1950.
At that time, 32 kg of jatka was seized. Later, the fish was distributed to various orphanages.

He said that three people were fined and 32 kg of Jatka fish were seized from them and distributed to orphanages and madrasas.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nishat Farabi said that this campaign was conducted to increase the production of hilsa and preserve Jatka hilsa.
