The Rajshahi Divisional Petrol Pump Owners and Workers Oikya Parishad has announced to shut down all petrol pumps in North Bengal for an indefinite period from Wednesday morning in protest against the Roads and Highways Department's eviction drive without notice. During this time, the Oikya Parishad has announced to stop the extraction and marketing of all types of fuel oil from the depot at Baghabari Port.
The matter was confirmed in a press release signed by BAPEA Rajshahi Division President and Central Association Secretary General Md. Mizanur Rahman Ratan and BAPEA Rajshahi Division General Secretary Md. Abdul Jalil on Tuesday (February 4) night.
That night, the Rajshahi Divisional Petrol Pump Owners and Dealers Association, Sirajganj District Petrol Pump and Dealers Association, Baghabari Ghat Pump Owners Association and North Bengal Tanker Workers Union held a meeting at the Baghabari office in Shahjadpur, Sirajganj.
After that meeting, Azizur Rahman, president of the North Bengal Tanker Workers Union, made this announcement.
