The Chief Advisor has directed the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges to take necessary measures to construct a new connecting road (N-215) in order to reduce traffic congestion in Srimangal town of Moulvibazar district and facilitate the travel of tourists. Implementation of the proposal taken on the basis of the first-party fortnightly confidential report of January 2025 of the Cabinet Division, Field Administration, Connections Branch, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. In the first-party fortnightly confidential report of January 2025 received from the Divisional Commissioners, the following proposal of the Cabinet Division was presented to the Honorable Chief Advisor. The report sent by District Administrator Md. Israel Hossain said that Srimangal Upazila town of Moulvibazar district, famous for its tea, is the gateway for the arrival and departure of the district. The city receives numerous tourists throughout the year. The main roads of this traditional city are very narrow and the pressure of vehicles is increasing due to the increase in the number of tourist vehicles. As a result, traffic jams often occur on the main roads of the city. In addition, numerous establishments, including government and private offices, industrial factories, shops, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants and educational institutions, have been built on both sides of the road. As a result, the city residents and tourists are facing extreme suffering due to this constant traffic jam. The normal travel of tourists is being disrupted due to traffic jams. The Deputy Commissioner said that the Honorable Chief Advisor has kindly approved the proposal to take necessary measures to construct a new connecting road (N-215) in order to reduce traffic congestion in Srimangal town of Moulvibazar district and facilitate the travel of tourists. In such a situation, the Senior Secretary, Road Transport and Highways Department, requested the Cabinet Division to take necessary measures regarding the above-mentioned proposal and inform it about the implementation progress.
