A young man named Madhu Mia (39) was allegedly stabbed to death in Kamalganj of Moulvibazar district over a previous dispute. The deceased Madhu Mia is the son of Durud Mia of Rajkandi Barakhola area. The incident took place in front of the office of Kamarchhara Tea Garden in Alinagar Union on Monday (February 3) night.
According to local and police sources, Madhu Mia had an argument with Dilip Kairi and Ripon Kairi. At one point, they stabbed each other indiscriminately, killing Madhu Mia on the spot.
Upon receiving the information, the police quickly reached the spot and recovered the body. Four people have been detained for questioning in this incident.
Kamalganj Police Station OC (Investigation) Shamim Akanji said on Tuesday (February 4), "Dilip Kairi, Ripon Kairi, Ragunath Ravidas and Santosh Ravidas have been arrested in connection with the murder. The body of the deceased has been sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy and preparations for the case are underway."
The killing has created tension in the area. Police are monitoring the situation and investigations are ongoing to uncover the root cause of the killing.
