Saraswati Puja was celebrated in various ways at the premises of Officers Club Dhaka. As part of the day-long program on Tuesday, idol installation, wreath-laying and hand-holding, lamp lighting discussion, distribution of prasad and entertainment were organized.
The Saraswati Puja program began at 10 am under the chairmanship of the Cabinet Secretary and Chairman of the Officers Club Dhaka. Advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Asif Nazrul was present as the chief guest at the program.
Special guests were Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Advisor to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, and Supradeep Chakma, Advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs. Indian Ambassador to Bangladesh Shri Prannoy Verma and Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari were also present.
Puja Sub-Committee Chairman Bijan Kanti Sarkar delivered the welcome speech at the event. Officers Club Dhaka Treasurer MA Khalek, Puja Celebration Sub-Committee Co-Chairman Tapan Chandra Majumder and Puja Celebration Sub-Committee Member Secretary Rathindra Nath Dutta were present at the event.
Besides, judges, senior secretaries, secretaries, additional secretaries, joint secretaries and deputy secretaries of the government, heads of various organizations, and working and retired officials of government and semi-government organizations were present at the event.
In the evening, a delightful cultural program was organized with the participation of renowned artists of the country. About 10,000 guests, including club members and their families, and members of Sanatan Dharma, enjoyed the program throughout the day.
