A housewife (46), a mother of three, has been accused of being raped in Raipur, Laxmipur. The incident took place last Friday in Char Kachia village of Dakshin Charbangshi union of the upazila. The victim said that Alamgir Hossain (32), Milan Hawlader (28) and an unknown person from the same area tied their hands and feet in a group and committed the incident in the dead of night. The victim filed a case against three people on Tuesday (February 4) afternoon in the incident.
The victim housewife said that they live in the Balur Math area next to the local Mollarhat market. On Friday night, she was sleeping at home with her child. While her husband was busy working at the market, the accused opened the door by giving false information that her van driver husband had been in an accident. Then, they held her face and raped her. After the rape, Alamgir was beaten up by the locals on the way to steal a cow from a farmer in the area and handed over to the police.
Confirming the case, Raipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan said that the accused in the incident, Alamgir Hossain, was already arrested for cow theft and is in jail. After the case, the other accused, Milan Howlader, was arrested and sent to court. Earlier, Raipur Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Jamilul Haque and he visited the scene on Monday night.
