Police have arrested four members of banned organizations Chhatra League, Jubo and Awami League in a raid in Chandgaon police station area of Chittagong.
They were arrested in separate raids on Monday (February 3) around 7:30 pm.
The arrested are: Md. Arif (20), son of Md. Anwar, active Chhatra League activist of Kolapara Lamba Colony of Jan Ali Railway Station next to Green Society in Chandgaon; Touhidul Islam (32), son of Sekandar Mia of Shamsher Para, active Awami League activist; Md. Sumon (30), son of Abul Kalam Sawdagar of Charpata Syed Mukhir of Daulat Khan Police Station in Bhola; and SM Selim Uddin (54), son of the late SM Ezaharul Haque of Ward No. 3 of Haji Para, Panchlaish Police Station.
In this regard, Chandgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aftab Uddin said that they were shown arrested in a case under the Explosives Act.
