Donald Trump has become the President of the United States for the second time. And this has angered Indians. He has started deporting illegal Indian immigrants from the United States.
Trump's relations with India were good. However, the exact reason for this strained relationship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not yet known. This time, after taking office, he announced to send illegal immigrants back to the country. As a result, a decision was taken to send back about 20,000 Indians. As part of this, some of the Indian immigrants were sent back to India in a military C-17 aircraft.
It's not just Indian immigrants that Trump is sending back. Apart from India, the Trump administration has also sent back illegal immigrants from countries like Guatemala, Peru, and Honduras by military aircraft. Meanwhile, the White House recently released several photos of illegal immigrants being sent back by military aircraft. It showed people being lined up and taken onto planes. All of them had chains tied around their waists. This sparked a storm of criticism.
The deportation process is expected to take about 24 hours to complete, Reuters reported, citing US officials. Under the Trump administration's immigration policy, illegal immigrants are identified and sent back to their home countries on military aircraft. Migrants from Guatemala, Peru and Honduras have also been deported in the same manner.
The Trump administration's move has led to the repatriation of Indians, among the nearly 11 million illegal immigrants living in the United States. US President Donald Trump said that after a phone call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he was assured that India would take the necessary steps to take back these immigrants.
