There has been a significant increase in remittance flows to the country since the fall of the Awami League government in the mass uprising of students and the public on August 5 last year. The last time expatriates sent $2.6387 billion to the country was in December 2024. The growth in remittances was more than 27.5 percent in the first six months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year, i.e., July-December. Due to low remittances, this growth came down to 23 percent by the end of January.
