Pavipravi Representative:
The worship of Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, was celebrated with grand arrangements at Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (PUST) through worship of the goddess, flower offerings, yagna, cultural programs and distribution of prasad.
The Saraswati Puja ceremony began at the university's central puja hall at around 8 am on Monday (February 3). Numerous traditional teachers and students of the university participated in it. Preparations for the puja began 15 days in advance. All traditional students participated spontaneously.
The Saraswati Puja celebration was attended by the chief guest, Professor Dr. S. M. Hemayet Jahan, Pro-Vice Chancellor of PUBRI. Also present were Professor Dr. Swadesh Chandra Samanta, former Vice Chancellor of PUBRI, Professor Dr. Gopal Saha, Convener of the Puja Celebration Committee, Professor Anup Kumar Mondal and Professor Kumar Debashish Dutta.
Convenor of the Pavipravi Puja Celebration Committee, Professor Dr. Gopal Saha said about the Puja celebration, "Our purpose of worship is to gain world knowledge. I believe that when Goddess Bagdevi is pleased, the expansion of knowledge and intellect in the human heart increases. I am starting today's Puja ceremony by greeting everyone on the occasion of Sri Panchami." He then concluded his speech by proposing to build a road for the temple on behalf of the university.
Himel Majumdar, president of the university's Sanatan Sangha, said, "It is difficult to conduct puja in the small space of our temple. We cannot allow everyone to sit inside. Students are roaming around outside without any way out and have to stand instead of sitting. In this situation, I am making a special request to build a new temple a little bigger as per the needs of the students."
Speaking as the chief guest at the Saraswati Puja ceremony, Paviprabir Pro-VC Professor Dr. S. M. Hemayet Jahan assured that all the problems of the students, teachers, and officials of the Sanatan Dharma will be resolved quickly by listening carefully to them.
