Former Law Minister and Member of Parliament for Brahmanbaria-4 (Kasba-Akhaura) Anisul Haque was cleverly 'handed over' to law enforcement by two 'workmen' from his own house.
Mohammad Shariful, the former general secretary of the banned Chhatra League's Akhaura unit in Brahmanbaria district, shared such information on social media Facebook on Sunday (February 2).
The accused are Shafiqul Islam Sohag, who was in charge of caring for the former minister's ailing mother, and Alauddin Babu, son of Idris Mia, the caretaker (doorman) of the minister's village house.
Mohammad Shariful, citing 'reliable sources', claimed in a Facebook post that Sohag and Babu took control of Anisul Haque's personal funds worth hundreds of crores of taka before and after August 5 last year, claiming that they had kept them safely. After the government fell, they strategically handed Anisul Haque over to the law enforcement agencies.
