The Fire Service has recovered the bodies of two more students who went missing while bathing in the Phuljore River in Sirajganj.
A diving team from Rajshahi rescued them on Sunday (February 2) afternoon.
The information was confirmed by Apu Kumar Mondal, warehouse inspector of Kamarkhand Fire Service and Civil Defense.
The rescued students are Krishna Niyogi and his friend Sarjil Islam.
Apu Kumar Mandal said that for the second day, a team of divers from Rajshahi conducted a rescue operation in the Phuljore River. After working for an hour, they recovered two bodies from the Jhatibelai area of the river within a 20-minute interval.
Earlier, on Saturday (February 1), five friends from the city came to visit Zarif's house in Jhantibelai village. While visiting, the six of them went to bathe in the Phuljod River in the afternoon. At one point during the bath, three of them drowned in the river. The other three swam back to safety.
The missing are Rafi (15), son of Abdur Rahim of Jhantibelai village, Krishna Niyogi (15), son of Bishwanath Niyogi of Sirajganj town, and Sarjil Islam (16), son of Imrul Hasan. All of them are students of class 9 at Sirajganj Collectorate School and College.
