Those injured in the anti-discrimination movement have blocked the road in front of the National Orthopaedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute (Pangu Hospital) in Shyamoli, the capital, demanding good treatment, state recognition, rehabilitation and compensation.
At around 10:30 pm on Saturday, they descended on the road in front of Pangu Hospital and the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital.
Traffic from Agargaon to Shishu Mela Link Road is closed. Only ambulance traffic is normal.
At around 9:30 pm that night, hundreds of people injured in the anti-discrimination movement who were undergoing treatment at the National Orthopaedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute, the National Ophthalmology Institute and Hospital, and the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital, as well as various nearby government hospitals, took to the streets.
Some have come carrying sticks. They are seen raising various slogans to press their demands. Many are lying on the road and raising slogans.
Md. Rafiqul Islam was shot at the Mirpur Section 10 roundabout on July 19 last year. The 30-year-old young man was shot in the left eye. He is currently undergoing treatment at the National Ophthalmology Institute and Hospital.
