Two passengers of a CNG truck were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG truck in Mirpur, Kushtia.
The accident occurred at around 9:30 am on Friday (January 31) in the Ranakharia area of Talbaria Union, Mirpur Upazila, on the Kushtia-Iswardi Highway.
The deceased are Tania Khatun (32). She is the wife of Jahangir Alam of Ebi police station area. The name of the other person could not be known. Police are working to identify him. All the injured were CNG passengers.
They are Ahsan Habib, Humayun and Afiza. The injured have been rescued and admitted to Kushtia General Hospital.
Kushtia Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syed Al Mamun said that a CNG vehicle with a few passengers was leaving Kushtia towards Bheramara. The accident occurred when it reached Ranakharia area of Talbaria Union of Mirpur Upazila on the Kushtia-Iswardi Highway. Two people, including a female passenger, died on the spot. Three others were injured. They have been admitted to Kushtia General Hospital.
The bodies of the victims in this incident have been kept in the hospital morgue.
