Police have arrested Md. Gias Uddin Gias (50), joint general secretary of Faridpur's Saltha Upazila Awami League, in connection with the attack on BNP leader Shama Obaid's convoy.
Police arrested him at his home in Naopara village of Majhardia union of the upazila around 10 am on Monday (April 3). He is the son of the deceased Nazimuddin Matubbar of that village.
Saltha Police Station OC Investigation Maruf Hasan Russell said that A'League leader Gias Uddin was arrested on Monday on a warrant in a case under the Speedy Trial Act and sent to the Faridpur Magistrate's Court.
