After a summit with European leaders in London on Sunday (March 2), Zelensky said Kiev was ready to move forward with the deal.
"Our policy is to move forward, regardless of what happened in the past. We are constructive, if we agree to sign this agreement, we are ready to sign it. And frankly, I believe the United States is ready too," Zelensky told reporters at London Stansted Airport.
Zelensky also said he believes his relationship with Trump can be revived and that the Trump administration will not cut off aid to Kiev.
The Ukrainian leader said, "I think our relationship will continue. Because it is more than a relationship at a certain moment."
He said that Ukraine is not the largest country in the world, but everyone can see how Ukraine fights for freedom and independence. At the same time, Zelensky admitted that Ukraine is dependent on US aid.
It is worth noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky went to the White House last Friday (February 28) to sign an agreement on rare mineral resources. However, in a meeting in front of reporters that day, he got involved in an unprecedented war of words with US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. At one point, Zelensky was asked to leave the White House. The agreement also fell apart. However, within a few days of the incident, the Ukrainian president softened his tone. Al Jazeera reported.
