BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman spoke as the chief guest at an iftar mahfil organized by BNP at the Ladies Club in the capital. During the event, he said, “Ramadan teaches us the importance of restraint and patience and standing by people from a humanitarian perspective.” He also said, “Christian communities around the world celebrate their Christmas on the same day, can we think about whether Ramadan and Eid can be celebrated on the same day in Bangladesh, as in the rest of the world?”
Tarique Rahman called on the scholars and ulama, saying, "I would request you to think about this." He expressed hope that everyone can work together on such initiatives.
Mirza Abbas: Attempts are being made to create division with BNP
In addition, BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas said, “Now some parties in the country and abroad are trying to create a rift between the BNP and the scholars and clerics.” He added, “This rift is not just with the BNP, it will create a deep rift and through this rift, foreign forces can enter the country, which will threaten our national security.”
Mirza Abbas commented on the new slogan 'Second Republic', saying, "I still don't understand it. What is the second independence? What does the second republic mean? I still don't understand its meaning." He warned, "There is a hidden purpose behind creating such divisions."
