Shabbir Elahi, Moulvibazar A harmony rally was held with various stakeholders to resolve violence and establish harmony in Sreemangal of Moulvibazar. The rally was held at Majdihi Tea Garden in Kalapur Union of the upazila on Saturday afternoon.
Aklima Chowdhury, Sylhet Divisional Field Coordinator of The Hunger Project, was present at the rally organized by the Peace Facilitator Group (PFG) in Srimangal.
The event was chaired and moderated by local coordinator journalist Syed Sayed Ahmed. PFG's Interfaith Harmony Protection Committee members Md. Anharul Islam, Maulana M.A. Rahim Nomani, and journalist Nur Mohammad Sagar spoke at the event. Tea Garden Panchayat Committee President Sadhan Karmakar, Vice President Santaki Roy, businessman Dulal Nunia, student Vishal Nunia, youth Sajan Kahar and Sagar Nunia also spoke among the locals.
The speakers called for a resolution through dialogue at the local level, rather than resorting to conflict and confrontation at any stage.
