A press conference was held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 11:00 am, at the "Press Club Maulana Akram Khan Hall" at the initiative of the "Islami Bank Customer Forum" to demand banking facilities for loss-making investment customers of Islami Bank.
The press conference was addressed by Abdul Haque, Convener of the Islami Bank Customer Forum and President of Barvida. The press conference was addressed by Abul Kashem Haider, Joint Convener of the Islami Bank Customer Forum and former Vice President of FBCCI, Mozammel Haque Bhuiyan, Member Secretary of the Islami Bank Customer Forum and Chairman of Maisha Group, Nazrul Islam Alam, Joint Convener of the Islami Bank Customer Forum and Managing Director of New Auto Galaxy, Maulana Shah Wali Ullah, Shah Alam Bhuiyan, Shahidullah Majumder, Nazmul Haque, Dr. Moin Uddin, Sharif Masum Billah, and others.
Five demands were presented at the press conference.
The demands are as follows: (1) Regularization of customer investments and provision of new investment facilities; (2) Ending harassment of respected customers by overzealous bank (branch head) officers; (3) Returning to Islamic Sharia-based ideals.
4) Quickly remove bank officials who illegally occupied banks and helped S. Alam launder money.
5) Re-establishment of the previous Board of Directors.
