A rally and discussion meeting was held on Sunday (March 2) to mark National Voters' Day, organized by the Kapasia Upazila Election Office of Gazipur, with the theme 'Yours, My Bangladesh, Let's Vote Together'.

At the beginning of the program at 11 am, a rally took out and circled the main roads of the upazila and met for a discussion meeting at the Upazila Parishad meeting room at around 12 noon. The discussion meeting was chaired by Upazila Election Officer Tamanna Rashid and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nurul Amin. In his speech, he said, "Voters' awareness and participation keep democracy alive. Voting is not only the right of every citizen, but also the responsibility. We want everyone to create a beautiful and peaceful electoral environment together.
"Voters should play a role in the development of the country through their valuable votes." He added, "Through National Voters' Day, we want to increase awareness among voters. Our goal is also to register new voters and include everyone in the voter list."
The total number of voters in the upazila is 321175, of which 160772 are male voters, 160403 are female voters and 0 are transgender. Upazila Social Service Officer Ruhul Amin, Education Officer Ramita Islam, Agricultural Extension Officer Suraiya Akhter, Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Maulana Farhad Hossain, Nurul Amin Sikder, Principal Russell Sarkar, Headmaster Mahamudul Haque, Shamsuddin Pradhan and local journalists were present.
