Two leaders of the banned Chhatra League were detained at the Islamic University (IB) while they were sitting for their semester final exams. They were detained from the examination room of the university's Social Welfare Department on Sunday afternoon.

The arrested are Mazharul Islam Naeem, deputy coordinator of the BCL branch, and Saddam Hossain, a BCL leader. The agitating students beat them up.
It is learned that when the semester final exams of the Social Welfare Department began, the two accused leaders also came to take the exams along with other students. When the matter spread on campus, the students gathered in the faculty building and expressed their anger.
Upon receiving the news, the leaders of the university's proctoral body and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Coordination Council arrived, rescued them from the hands of the aggrieved students, and handed them over to the police station.
At that time, ordinary students said that during the movement, the two detained leaders threatened the students in various ways. They have beaten up students and got involved in fights on campus before. They have also threatened to look after the students who participated in the movement later. They have deliberately tried to destabilize the campus by coming to take the exam today. We want to know how such terrorists dare to come to take the exam.
When asked, the university's proctor, Professor Dr. Shahinuzzaman, said, "They have been handed over to the police station with the help of the proctorial body. Action can be taken against them as members of a banned organization under the 2013 law. It is also being investigated whether any specific complaint has been filed."
