Staff Reporter: BKSP (Bangladesh Sports Institute) Karate Department achieved outstanding success in the Ekushey Challengers Open Karate Championship 2025. They won a total of 14 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze medals to become the champions of the competition. This success is a matter of pride not only for the BKSP Karate team but also for the entire country.
BKSP Karate Department Head Sensei Md. Solaiman and Coach Sensei Md. Hossain Khan Moon served as coaches in the competition. This historic achievement is the result of their leadership and hard work.
Some particularly notable medals:
- Md. Junayed won two gold medals in kata and kumite (+63 kg) in the (14-15) category.
- Rajan Bikash Chakma won a gold and a bronze medal in kata and kumi (-55 kg) in the (11-13) category.
- Mehedi Hasan Joy won the gold medal in the senior single kata category.
- Md. Samiul Islam Sagar won the gold medal in the -55 kg category.
- Md. Mahidur Islam Dwip also won a gold medal in the -60 kg category.
- Md. Siam Hossain won the gold medal in the -67 kg category.
- Md. Omar Farooq also won a gold medal in the -75 kg category.
Besides, other players of BKSP also proved themselves in this competition and showcased their talent in the country's karate sport. BKSP's title win is a reflection of the efforts and concentration of the karate team, which has made the country's sports environment stronger and more competitive.
