A human chain was held in front of the National Press Club at 2:00 PM today, March 1, 2025, at the initiative of IEB to protest the brutal attack on the Vice-Chancellor and teachers of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and the creation of an unstable environment on the campus.
A human chain was organized by the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in front of the National Press Club today, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM to protest the brutal attack on the Vice-Chancellor and teachers of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and the unstable environment created on the campus. The human chain was presided over by Engineer Niaz Uddin Bhuiyan, Vice-President (S&W) IEB and moderated by Engineer A. T. M. Tanbir-ul-Hasan (Tamal), Vice-President (Administration and Finance) IEB.
During the human chain, IEB Honorary General Secretary, Professor Dr. Engineer Md. Sabbir Mostafa Khan, said that those who attacked the Vice Chancellor and teachers at KUET are unfit to be students. Those who attacked KUET and created an unstable environment should be identified and brought to justice through a departmental investigation. He demanded that the university be opened immediately and a normal environment for education ensured.
Also present in the human chain were Engineer Mohammad Mahbub Alam, Honorary Assistant General Secretary (Academic and International) IEB, Engineer Md. Nur Amin, Honorary Assistant General Secretary (HRD) IEB, Engineer Mohammad Ahsanul Russell, Honorary Assistant General Secretary (Administration and Finance) IEB, Engineer Sabbir Ahmed Osmani, Honorary Assistant General Secretary (S&W) IEB, Engineer Abdullah Al Mamun, Vice-Chairman (Academic and HRD) Dhaka Center, IEB, Engineer K. M. Asaduzzaman, Honorary Secretary, Dhaka Center, IEB. In addition, a large number of engineers including departmental engineers of IEB were present in the human chain.
