On Saturday (March 1) morning, the Department of Livestock launched a program to sell beef, milk and eggs at affordable prices in front of the main gate of the department at Sangeeta intersection in Satkhira city.

Satkhira Additional Deputy Commissioner Bishnupada Pal inaugurated the program as the chief guest. District Livestock Officer Dr. Bishnupada Biswas and Sadar Upazila Livestock Officer Nazmus Shakib were present at the time.
Satkhira Sadar Upazila Livestock Officer (ULO) Nazmus Shakib said that this arrangement has been made on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner. In this month-long market, beef will be sold at 650 taka per kg, milk at 70 taka per liter and eggs at 9 taka 50 paisa per piece. Meat worth a minimum of 100 taka can be purchased from this affordable shop. The goal of the Livestock Office is to ensure nutritious food at low prices for the common people during the month of Ramadan.
Abu Said, a local buyer who came to buy beef, said that the common people are lost in the current market. This special market will be of great benefit to the common middle class, lower middle class and poor people. At the same time, the nutritional needs will be fulfilled.
Housewife Rahima Khatun said that this will be very beneficial for the middle class. The middle class cannot reach out to anyone when they are in trouble. Therefore, they will be able to buy eggs, milk, meat at low prices from affordable price shops. This is a timely initiative.
